I initiated and implemented this project to redesign the workflow for health equipment reprocessing using LEAN methodology. Components of this project included:
- Developing and providing training for project team regarding LEAN methodology.
- Leading the team to complete Value Stream Mapping for the process of cleaning, disinfecting and repairing health equipment.
- Identifying and prioritizing opportunities for improvement.
- Establishing metrics to measure success.
- Working with the team to implement four improvement projects.
- Measuring outcomes.
The project resulted in further standardization of the equipment cleaning and disinfection process as well as a reduction in the time required to complete the process.
