Process Redesign

I initiated and implemented this project to redesign the workflow for health equipment reprocessing using LEAN methodology.  Components of this project included:

  • Developing and providing training for project team regarding LEAN methodology.
  • Leading the team to complete Value Stream Mapping for the process of cleaning, disinfecting and repairing health equipment.
  • Identifying and prioritizing opportunities for improvement.
  • Establishing metrics to measure success.
  • Working with the team to implement four improvement projects.
  • Measuring outcomes.

The project resulted in further standardization of the equipment cleaning and disinfection process as well as a reduction in the time required to complete the process.
